Toyota V With 500 Miles And Mechanical Issues Already?

I have a grinding rattle in the back of the car, plus one of the emergency lights is on. This car has 500 miles on it. I am completely paranoid about getting a lemon. How can I ever trust a car that has mechanical issues after 500 miles? This is totally unacceptable and is Toyota quality gone down the tubes? This takes all the fun away from having a new car.
