Actually most people get their computers infected by clicking something in their email that has a virus, or downloading a program that is already infected.

However, it's also common for people to visit a web page, like a porn site, and then suddenly they are asked to install an "ActiveX" control (usually seen displayed at the top of their web browser) that can maliciously then install and run other dangerous programs like a keylogger or virus program.

ActiveX controls though can also be valid and required with some sites. For example, if you were to run an anti-virus online scan you might need to allow your browser to install the ActiveX controller program.

In any event, if you visited a porn site, or any site, and suddenly before the web page is completely displayed you are being bombarded to install something in order to view or continue, think twice.

If don't see any valid reason to install the ActiveX program, then don't allow it to be installed. Your IE browser will also warn you first by flashing a bar at the top of your browser to give you the choice to install or not.

In addition, there are today many good 'site advisory' programs that you can use with your browser that can warn you if you've stumbled upon a malicious site. Here's one such site where you can learn more:

However, one easy solution is to switch your browser from IE to Firefox or Opera. These browsers don't rely on the use of ActiveX controls. But again, there will be times you might be stuck in using your IE browser too.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:

Good Luck !!!
